It analyzes foreign-language texts, extracts key words and phrases, and provides an Understanding Summary, a Thematic Map, and detailed word statistics (lemmas, Word Length Distribution).
For language learners who want to grasp authentic texts more easily – without constantly reaching for a dictionary.
Text2Voca is not a direct translation service. Instead, it focuses on helping you deeply understand the original text yourself. We don't provide ready-made translations, but rather analyze the text for keywords, phrases, and grammatical structures to actively expand your reading comprehension and vocabulary.
Text2Voca accelerates your language learning by highlighting important vocabulary and complex sentence structures. Through detailed word statistics and an AI-generated Thematic Map, you can better organize the text, grasp important information faster, and sustainably improve your reading comprehension and active vocabulary.
You can analyze a wide variety of texts, including news articles, scientific papers, song lyrics, blog posts, emails, official documents, and even excerpts from books. While Text2Voca works with all languages, we offer enhanced linguistic analysis—such as part-of-speech highlighting and detailed word statistics—for English, German, Spanish, and French.
Yes! We plan additional analysis options, personalized settings, and an app version.
No, neither your texts nor the entered YouTube links are stored on our servers or shared with third parties. The analysis occurs locally in your browser and via secure, temporary connections to our AI services. We take your privacy seriously.
Text2Voca uses a powerful hybrid technology: We combine Google's most advanced AI models (Gemini) for deep semantic understanding with specialized linguistic algorithms for grammatical precision. This synergy allows us to not only grasp the meaning of a text but also to break down its structure (such as parts of speech and root forms) with exacting accuracy.
Our engine links generative AI (Google Gemini) with strict computational linguistics (NLP) procedures. For editorial and well-structured texts, we achieve extremely high reliability. For creative formats such as poems or song lyrics, which often break grammatical rules, the analysis serves primarily as an orientation guide. The system is trained to accelerate the learning process, but it does not replace human language intuition.
On the results page, your text is displayed with Part-of-Speech (POS) highlighting enabled by default. Nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs are highlighted in color. These highlights can be toggled on or off at any time. Any words that are not highlighted can be clicked to reveal their specific part of speech. This feature is available to all users without any restrictions.
In the 'Overview' tab, we count the way a human would: We count everything visible in the input field. The detailed Lemma statistics, however, follow a strict linguistic logic: They automatically filter out 'stop words' (like 'and', 'the') and ignore punctuation to show you the pure vocabulary core of the text. This intelligent filtering results in different figures that are more relevant for learning.
Our grammatical analysis is based on state-of-the-art Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology. For these algorithms to work perfectly, they require context.
An example: The AI often identifies a part of speech by its position in the sentence. If punctuation marks (periods, commas) are missing or capitalization is inconsistent (as is often the case in song lyrics or poems), this context is missing. A noun might then be incorrectly interpreted as a verb.
Text2Voca works best with texts that have a clear structure, such as articles, books, or essays. Please regard the analysis of very free or artistic texts as a quick 'compass' for vocabulary, not as an infallible corrector.
Currently, detailed grammatical analysis is supported for the following languages: German, English, French, and Spanish.
Text2Voca supports text analysis in all languages. For German (DE), English (EN), Spanish (ES), and French (FR), we offer additional advanced linguistic analyses. The user interface (UI) is available in German, English, Spanish, French, and Korean (KO).
We limit uploads to a maximum of 75,000 characters or 50 pages (PDF) to ensure optimal analysis quality.
Precision: If a text is too long, the AI has to generalize too much. The thematic map and vocabulary lists would lose valuable detail.
Learning Success: It is more effective to analyze a book chapter by chapter rather than processing hundreds of pages at once.
Performance: Keeping text length moderate ensures fast processing and a smooth experience in your browser.
Tip: If your document is larger, please split it into smaller sections (e.g., chapters).
Note: Currently, only files (PDF, DOCX, TXT) from which text can be directly extracted can be analyzed. Scanned documents or images are currently not supported.
Text2Voca automatically analyzes YouTube videos and generates a clear, concise digest of the content. After a YouTube link is submitted, the system retrieves the available transcript, analyzes the structure and context of the video, and summarizes the most important information. In addition, selected key phrases from the original video are highlighted and explained in the user’s language. These phrases remain in the original language to preserve authentic exposure while supporting clear understanding without direct translation. Video analysis is available in all plans. The amount of monthly analysis time depends on the selected subscription. Users on the Basic, Plus, and Premium plans can extend their available time by purchasing additional packages.
Yes. Video analyses require at least 3 minutes of video. Text analyses require a minimum of 150 characters. These limits ensure that the analysis remains meaningful.
YouTube transcripts often do not contain information about who is currently speaking. When multiple people are in a conversation, the AI must infer the speaker from the context. This can occasionally lead to incorrect name attributions. We recommend focusing on the content and checking the original video for critical details.
Our plans primarily differ in the text length per analysis and the included quotas. While the free Lite plan provides a good starting point, paid subscriptions (Basic, Plus, Premium) include higher quotas. Users on paid plans can also purchase additional quotas if needed, which is not available in the Lite plan.
Your quota is only deducted when the analysis is fully displayed. If a technical interruption occurs or no transcript is available—for example, with some YouTube videos—nothing will be deducted.
Inclusive monthly quotas reset every month and cannot be carried over. Purchased quotas remain valid indefinitely until used. They only expire if the subscription or account is cancelled.
You can upgrade at any time. To downgrade, cancel your current subscription and choose a new plan once the current billing period has ended.
Yes. In the Basic, Plus, and Premium plans you can purchase add-on packages in units of 50,000 characters or 50 minutes. Simply select the quantity to reach the total you need. Add-ons are not available in the Lite plan.
You can cancel your subscription at any time directly through your user account. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. There are no notice periods or hidden fees. If needed, a cancellation can also be undone before the period ends.
Who handles the billing?
Billing is managed by our service provider Paddle. After subscribing, you will receive an email with your invoice, including VAT.
How does subscription renewal work?
Your subscription renews automatically every 30 days unless cancelled.
Can I upgrade my plan?
Yes, you can upgrade to a higher-tier plan at any time. For the current month, you’ll only be charged the difference: your previous usage is prorated and the remaining days are billed based on the new plan. Starting next month, the new plan will renew automatically.
Text2Voca is a browser-based web application that is fully responsive and can therefore be used seamlessly on any device – including smartphones and tablets – via your web browser. A dedicated mobile app is planned for future development.
